Confederate City in the Crucible of War
A presentation by A. Wilson Greene
The Historic Petersburg Foundation, the City of Petersburg and Pamplin Historical Park and the National Museum of the Civil War Soldier invite you to the Union Train Station on Thursday, February 7th at 7:00 o'clock for a presentation on the most recent Civil War book written by noted Civil War historian, A. Wilson Greene. Greene is President & CEO of Pamplin Historical Park and the National Museum of the Civil War Soldier in Petersburg.
Few wartime cities in Virginia held more importance than Petersburg. Greene's book tracks both Petersburg's civilian experience and the city's place in Confederate military strategy and administration.
Since 2006, Greene has given talks on this book all around the country and for the first time, on February 7th, you will have the opportunity to hear him "at home" in Petersburg and obtain an autographed copy of Civil War Petersburg: Confederate City in the Crucible of War. The book sells for $35 and copies will be available for you to purchase and have signed after the program.
Tour begins and ends at 420 Grove Avenue
